The album was also nominated as the Top Christian Album at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards. In addition, the album spent forty-four weeks at the No. 1 . on the Christian Albums chart, the longest run in the 2010s.
In an interview on The Billboard’s Jim Asker, Daigle said, “I do not shy away from singing about my convictions. I believe it conveys honesty and makes people feel more authentic. A lot more people will connect with my music if it’s genuine. I fully believe in that. That’s the way to reach people who might not have thought that the Christian genre was their place of worship prior. I hope this will be a testimony of joy and hope that people feel a sense of childhood once more. When I was creating this record, I needed to recall my identity when I was a kid. I want people to reflect on the innocent innocence I experienced in my youth. How can I look at myself through those eyes? What can I do to be myself again? Where’s the happiness? Where’s the hope?”
She has teamed up with Zane Lowe’s World Record on Apple Music’s Beats 1 to release the title track from her forthcoming album, “Look Up Child”. “Look up Child” is a song that evokes childhood whimsy and an emotional appeal. The innocence of childhood inspires the melody. “When friends are stuck in a rut, where there’s no passion anymore, and their lives are just working and suffering, I’ll give them my Mr Potato Head,” explains Lauren. “It’s an opportunity to remember to be aware, to have that childhood faith and never to lose the enthusiasm.”
